- Jodie Foster shocked the “Star Wars” fandom by confirming she was offered the role of Princess Leia in “Star Wars,” and she turned it down. which unquestionably would’ve changed the course of her career.
- Foster recently told Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” about it, saying, “They were going for a younger Princess Leia but I had a conflict. I was doing a Disney movie and I just didn’t want to pull out of the Disney movie because I was already under contract.”
- The role ultimately went to Carrie Fisher, who was 19 years old during filming. Casting Foster in the iconic role would’ve also changed “Star Wars,” as she was only 13 or 14 years old when George Lucas’ original “Star Wars” was filming.
