This is Why Half Dome's Cables Are Going Up Early At Yosemite!

Want to hike Half Dome at Yosemite this year? You're going to have more time than usual to do it!

Yosemite National Park is installing their Half Dome cables two weeks earlier than usual because of the warm temperatures and little snow. 

They'll be ready by May 11.

Last year, the opening was delayed til mid-June! 

To apply for a daily lottery permit, applications are accepted at www.recreation.gov from 12:01 a.m. to 1 p.m., two days in advance of the intended hiking date.
