Why You Soon May Not Have To Answer Email Or Phone Calls After Work.

We told you last year about the bill that went into effect in France where employers could be fined $250 if they make their employees answer phone calls or emails outside of their set work hours.

In New York City, a  "right to disconnect" bill is on the ballot and it’s exactly like what passed in France.

Companies with at least 10 employees would be required to provide staff with a notice of their right not to respond to after-hours communications, and if that employee is fired for not answering a work email after hours, they could receive $2,500 and possibly get their job back.
