According to a report by Stacker, the best Mexican restaurant in California is located in San Francisco's Mission District.
Taqueria El Farolito is a late night "hole-in-the-wall" type spot that has been attracting San Fransisco's night owls since the '80s!
Stacker came to this conclusion by using, "Foursquare’s algorithm that ranks locations based on user check-ins, rating signals, category matches, tips, and photo trends and found the highest-rated restaurant in every state. National restaurant chains were not considered for this story."
If you want to stop by and try it for yourself, it's located on Mission St. near 24th St. Bart and is cash-only.
