Whitney Houston's Hologram Performed On A British Morning Show

As "An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour" prepares to kick off next week, the hologram of the singer made its first public appearance on Wednesday, February 19th.

Whitney's hologram appeared on This Morning to perform "Greatest Love of All" and give curious fans a short preview of what to expect on the European tour.

After a clip of the performance was posted onto Twitter, many were quick to call out how creepy and exploitative a hologram tour of a singer who has been dead for eight years seemed. And although the hologram definitely does look creepy, Pat Houston-- Whitney's former manager and current CEO of the Whitney Houston estate-- is asking fans to hold their judgements on the ethicality of the tour.

Rolling Stone's Ethan Millman was able to attend a rehearsal of the tour and talked to Pat about the concern surrounding the concept.

"It's primarily just paying homage to her legacy. How many times can you just hear the same song over and over? This is a new way to experience the music," she said in the feature. "People need to understand, no one is trying to recreate our Whitney. This is a show to celebrate her music and introduce her to people who never got to see her live."

The tour kicks off in Sheffield next Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 and will run until April 1st. According to the website, there are plans to bring the tour to North America and Mexico.
