A popular East Bay eatery has figured out a way to stay in business and help first responders and medical professionals at the same time.
Like so many restaurants in the Bay Area, Sunrise Bistro in Walnut Creek is struggling to stay afloat because of the restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The owners started a GoFundMe page to let people make donations. The money they receive will keep the business open, and allow them to provide meals to firefighters, police and healthcare workers.
Their goal is to raise $100,000.
So far the Sunrise Bistro workers have served up dozens of free breakfasts at Kaiser in Walnut Creek, Highland Hospital in Oakland, and American Medical Response in Concord.
