Macy’s is planning on reopening 68 of its stores in states where the shelter in place restrictions have been loosened. And, if COVID-19 infection rates taper off, Macy’s expects to reopen all of it’s 775 stores within six weeks.
Shoppers will need to get used to a new shopping experience at. The number of fitting rooms will be reduced, and sanitized for often. Each cash register will have a plexiglas barrier..the kind you see in grocery stores. And beauty consultations will be “no-touch” only.
After the stores reopen, many will operate on reduced hours.
