The graduating seniors of Oakland’s Skyline High received a very special greeting during their virtual graduation ceremony from a very special fellow alum….Tom Hanks. The Oscar winner graduated from Skyline in 1974.
Hanks told the graduating class "I would like to think that just as Skyline provided me with a direction and instinct to follow, the same has happened for you. Good luck to you, and also, congratulations."
Hanks frequently looks back on his high school days as a vendor at the Oakland Coliseum during A’s games.
