An Alameda Waffle Shop Knows How To Take Care Of Their Staff!

To say that the owners of Ole’s Waffle Shop in Alameda know how to take care of their employees would be an understatement on a grand scale.

Owners Ken and Vickie Monize are spending their retirement savings to keep their employees financially afloat during the pandemic. The 41 employees at Ole’s have said that they’re getting their full salary even though business has dropped of sharply.

Ken and Vickie’s plan was to use the $400,000 they’ve saved to buy a retirement home. But as Ken said “We didn’t feel like we can tell people they didn’t have jobs anymore. They’re family.” Indeed they are. Some have been working there for decades. Check out this video:
