Why are restaurants having such a hard time finding employees these days?
Well, there are a few theories: being afraid of going back to closed spaces during the pandemic, the ease of collecting unemployment instead, and former employees leaving the restaurant business for good.
The shortage of help is so serious that restaurants are offing signing bonuses. Many of the bonuses are in the $200 range. One eatery is offering $400 to sign on!
