To tip or not to tip for take-out.
It looks like the pandemic changed our tipping habits for take-out food. Before the lockdown a little over 24% tipped when we picked up our take-out orders. That number more than doubled to just over 53%. The average tipping rate for take-out is about 14% of the bill.
When dining in, the average tip was 17%. Post pandemic that rate is now almost 23%.
