- A 42-year-old Virginia man had the reunion of a lifetime - meeting his biological mother for the first time.
- Jimmy Thyden was born in Santiago, Chile, and shortly after his birth he was kidnapped by hospital workers who sent him to the U.S. to be put up for adoption, telling the mother he had died.
- These 'counterfeit adoptions' were common in Chile in the 1970's and 80's.
- 42 years later, Thyden tracked down his mother, Maria Gonzalez, with the help of the Chilean nonprofit Nos Buscamos. He traveled with his family to Chile to meet her for the first time.
- Thyden says his mother told him "Mijo, you have no idea the oceans I've cried for you."
