The Bay Bridge will once again be illuminated in 2025 thanks to a successful fundraising campaign by the nonprofit arts organization Illuminate, which raised nearly $11 million for the project.

The revamped Bay Lights installation, named The Bay Lights 360, will feature double the number of LED lights compared to the original version, making it visible from various angles of the bridge.

The project, originally planned for two years, was renewed for a decade due to local support but went dark in 2023 due to maintenance challenges.

The new version will include 50,000 custom-made bulbs and a new display visible to drivers entering San Francisco, with plans for a grand lighting ceremony in the spring.
