If You Cut Sugar Out Of Your Diet, This Could Happen To Your Body!

Twenty percent of Americans consume more than 700 calories of added sugar on a daily basis, according to the University of North Carolina. Elyse Powell, one of the report's coauthors, says while this sugar comes from obvious foods like cakes and cookies, a lot of it comes from unassuming products like salad dressing and pasta sauce.

Here's what could happen if we cut sugar out of our diet:

You could boost your heart health. "Added sugar chronically raises insulin levels, which activates the sympathetic nervous system, increasing blood pressure and heart rate,” says Dr. James J. DinIcolantonio.

Your skin will thank you. Research suggests consuming sugary beverages can increase your inflammation levels, which can cause breakouts. Cutting down on sugary beverages and snacks could clear your skin.

You'll sleep so much better. A sugar crash can make you take a midday nap that will keep you up longer at night. End the cycle by cutting out sugary foods.

You'll shed that stubborn last 10 pounds. If you cut 200 calories of sugar out of your diet each day, you could lose 10 pounds in six months.

You'll avoid diabetes. According to one study, eating 150 calories of added sugar increases your chances of developing type 2 diabetes by 11 times!
