The Oakland A’s now have a peanut-free zone for each of their home games at the Coliseum, making life easier for their fans with peanut allergies.
The A’s are the only team in Major League Baseball to offer a peanut-controlled area for every home game. The Giants hosted three peanut-allergy friendly games last season. The Toronto Blue Jays, who have designated 15 home games as peanut-reduced, had offered the most of any team.
From now on, no peanuts will be allowed in Loge 66, where a limited number of seats are available for each game. The area in and around Loge 66 will be cleaned and checked before each game, which presumably means Stomper, the A’s elephant mascot, may not be welcome.
