California Highway Patrol officers may have saved a tiny life Sunday when they found a kitten clinging to the bottom of a patrol car.
Officer Wilkenfeld with CHP's Oakland division said officers heard a persistent meow while on scene of a collision overnight on Interstate 880. "It took them a few minutes to track down the meowing and discover the cat was actually under their car!"
CHP officers believe the kitten may be one of a few feral cats that roam around the unit's parking lot. After hitching a ride all the way from the station to the freeway, sirens blaring along the route, the cat was terrified and "more than willing to let the officers pick her up and give her some food and water," according to the CHP Oakland Facebook page.
