Diana Ross

Born and raised in Detroit, Diana Ross rose to fame as the lead singer of the vocal group the Supremes, which, during the 1960s, became Motown's most successful act, and are the best charting girl group in US history.
Diana Ross left the Supremes for a solo career in 1969 and continued to be a musical mainstay.
She has won several major awards, including a Golden Globe, a Tony and several American Music Awards. Ross was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 as part of the Supremes.
