13-Year-Old Boy Uses 3D Printer To Make Masks & Donate Them

13-year-old Charles Randolph is using his time at home for good.

By using his parent's 3D printer, Randolph figured out a way to make face masks in order to donate them to people who need them during the pandemic, like his Uncle Charles.

Although the masks may not be N95s, they're still good for doing errands. Charles got the design for a mask off of a public domain website.

“You use a slicer which takes the product that you got off Thingiverse and it turns it into code that the 3D printer can read. This is the first real, useful thing that I’ve made," said Charles.
