Salesforce is the latest tech company to give money to local school districts. $18 million total will be given to San Francisco and Oakland public schools to provide support for online learning. The $9 million given to San Francisco will be used to support programs for student opportunities. Oakland will be using the $9 million to support middle school students including unaccompanied immigrant, refugee and asylum seeking students.

Salesforce CPO, Ebony Beckwith, said in a statement:

Public schools are the backbone of our communities — the heart and soul of our neighborhoods. As we reimagine education for a post-COVID-19, learn-anywhere world, we are committed to helping our schools build an equitable future for every student.
