A rep for Roberta Flack Announced She Has ALS, Commonly Known As Lou Gehrig's Disease.
She can no longer sing.
Her rep said the disease has made it impossible for her to sing and not easy to speak, but it will take a lot more than ALS to silence this icon.
The announcement about her health comes ahead of the premiere of Roberta, a feature length documentary debuting on Thursday at the DOCNYC film festival.
Roberta Flack is 85 years old.
