New Rules Would Limit Sugar In School Meals

A new proposal from the U.S. Department of Agriculture would limit the amount of sugar in school meals.

A new set of nutrition standards were released on Friday - cutting back on sugars and sodium while allowing for more whole grains.

It would be the first time sugar was restricted in school lunches. The changes would go into effect starting with the 2025/26 school year.
