8th Grader Parks Bus After School Bus Driver Passes Out

  • An 8th grade student in Wisconsin is being hailed as a hero after saving his schoolmates from a horrific accident.
  • 14-year-old Acie Holland III was riding home from Glen Hills Middle School when the bus driver suffered a medial emergency and passed out, causing the bus to veer into oncoming traffic.
  • Acie quickly pulled the driver's foot off the gas, hit the brake, and safely parked the bus. He then called 911, checked on the other students, and called in his grandmother, who is a nurse.
  • In a letter to families, Principal Anna M. Young wrote "what easily could have resulted in tragedy was avoided due to the quick thinking of (Holland)".
  • What's the most impressive thing you did in 8th grade?
