A collection of unreleased Michael Jackson tapes, including a song addressing media scrutiny, was discovered in California. The trove, found in a storage unit, contains 12 tracks from the late 1980s and early 1990s. The tapes feature Jackson discussing the music and creative process with producer Bryan Loren. The Jackson estate declined to purchase the tapes, so they may be auctioned for a significant sum. Jackson, a pop music icon, passed away in 2009 at age 50.
