Wendy’s to Start Using AI to Take Drive-Thru Orders

Wendy’s is expanding its voice-enabled AI ordering system to 600 restaurants after a successful pilot at 100 locations. CEO Kirk Tanner believes the technology improves customer experience and enhances labor efficiencies. By the end of 2025, the AI assistant will be handling orders at a significant portion of Wendy’s nearly 6,000 U.S. locations. Tanner even tests the system himself at a location near the company’s headquarters in Dublin, Ohio, signaling Wendy’s readiness to embrace AI in its drive-thru operations.
