Why is Lowe’s, Target and Many Other Stores Closing Down For A Day?

As you’re preparing a thoughtful menu, carefully considering attire, and perhaps planning a trip to Sunday service on Easter, many stores around the South will be closing their doors—for good reason.

This year, on April 20, 2025, many corporations will be shutting down to give their employees some well-earned, paid time off with family and friends. This list includes ALDI, Publix, Target, Lowe’s, Costco, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Sam’s Club, JCPenney, T.J. Maxx, Michael’s, and Marshalls, which will all be closed on Easter Sunday.
