When the fires started in Napa a week and a half ago, a staff member at Vintage High School in Napa posted on Facebook about the concern for the animals that might be left behind in the fires.
Before she knew it, and TOTALLY unexpected, her students started showing up at Vintage Farm and heading out in the middle of the night to rescue all kinds of animals from horses to sheep to pigs to llamas!
The students brought the animals they rescued back to Vintage Farm and have been caring for them ever since.
At the peak of their rescues, they had 250 animals at the farm. The students are caring for them as if they were their own.
