If you're heading to the Sierra Nevada today, beware that Hwy. 80 and 50 were both shut down overnight and re-opened early this morning. The snow is dumping up there and chains are currently required on 80 from Colfax to the state line. On 50, you'll need your chains from 3 miles east of Placerville to Meyers.
There is also a blizzard warning in effect.
Chains are also required:
HWY 88: FROM 3.6-MILES W/OF DEW DROP TO 1-MILE W/OF WOODFORDS...
HWY 89: FROM MARKLEEVILLE TO WOODFORDS
PICKETTS JUNCTION TO 2.7 MILES SOUTH OF HWY 50
HWY 4 FROM ARNOLD TO THE MT REBA TURNOFF
