The Santa Rosa High School choir was supposed to perform at Carnegie Hall and sadly, then the fires hit in the North Bay. Everything went up in flames, including the $100,000 in donations and pledges that they had raised for their trip! Some students sadly lost their homes as well. They had lost hope.
But then an angel stepped in.
Sonoma County billionaire Sandy Weill came forward and agreed to match every single additional dollar that was donated. Guess what? They raised the $100,000 again and are on the way to Carnegie Hall next weekend!
She is not alone. Here entire Santa Rosa High School choir is going to Carnegie, despite the fires and thanks to donations by a number of people and groups that raised $150k.
