No matter where you are in the Bay Area, you've at some point heard about the possibility of BART being extended from the Dublin-Pleasanton station to Livermore. And if you commute on 580 every day, you're probably beyond ready for it to happen.
The BART board has finally voted on the extension into Livermore and believe it or not, they turned it down!
It was a 5-4 vote and in a nutshell, the board sided with those who felt BART should focus on rebuilding and modernizing the existing system before it commits to building more extensions.
Shocking news for many people in the Tri Valley who assumed the vote would pass.
