Starting in September, United Airlines passengers will be hearing a new sales pitch from the carrier’s flight crews, who will try to sign up flyers for credit cards.
Flight crews will be getting new training on the airline’s credit card products and will be required to promote them to passengers on every United flight.
If a flight attendant sells a passenger on one of the credit cards, they will be paid $100.
United is sort of playing catch-up to its major competitors, including American, which have pulled ahead of United in new credit card sign-ups by actively pushing their own credit instruments on their flights.
How do you feel about being "sold" at credit card by the flight crew on your flight?
