A really neat event took place last night and it's an event that started in Butte county (Chico area) and traveled all the way down the state to San Diego and even to New York!
The event was called "One Night Charity" and it was started 7 years ago by Grayson Lobosky, now the Bar Manager at La Salles in Chico.
Approximately 42 restaurants participated last night and everyone including bartenders and servers at the participating restaurants donate 100% of their tips to victims of a tragedy. Last night, their proceeds went to the victims of the Carr fire in Redding.
One bar manager said that when they first did this event 7 years ago, they raised nearly $15,000. 100% of those proceeds went directly to the victims of the massive earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan.
