As he makes his way around the globe for his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour," Sir Elton John, or at least a very detailed impersonator, is strutting his stuff in the upcoming biopic called Rocketman and the first one-minute trailer for the film has hit the blogosphere.
Directed by Dexter Fletcher, the biopic sees Taron Edgerton playing a young version of the famed music titan as he navigates around Elton's fame, partying and drug use in the '70s. "There are moments in a rock star's life that define who he is," Edgerton says in a voiceover as the opening notes of "Bennie and the Jets" begins. "Where there was darkness, there is no you. And it's going to be a wild ride." The film also co-stars Jamie Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Gemma Jones, and Richard Madden.
While Rocketman doesn't hit theaters until May 31, 2019, it's bound to be worth the wait, especially since John is credited as one of the project's executive producers, while his husband, David Furnish, is listed as a producer. The film's first trailer arrived a day after Paramount Pictures released an image of Egerton in character as John. Scroll on below to see both teasers for the forthcoming project!
