The San Jose Police Department has rolled out a state-of-the-art ice-cream truck which will honor one of its fallen and strengthen its image and relationship with residents.
The truck is a tribute to officer Michael Katherman, a San Jose police officer who died in an on-duty traffic collision in 2016 while riding his police motorcycle. During his service, many officers and colleagues mentioned his fondness for ice cream.
The truck is called “Operation Frozen Treats Patrol” and it's also working as tool to bond with San Jose residents.
