An East Bay restaurant that is loved by locals and tourists alike suddenly closed its doors after 128 years with no warning.
Spenger's in Berkeley has closed their seafood grotto. Everyone was shocked, including the employees.
Patrons showed up for dinner Wednesday night to a shuttered restaurant and no explanation--just a sign saying Spenger's has closed its doors permanently and an apology for any inconvenience.
The Berkeley landmark has served a number of celebrities as well as locals.
