California's Next Wildfire Might Be Spotted By You, From Your Couch!

California's next wildfire could be spotted first by you...and you could very well do it from your couch! 

Cal Fire used to rely on shifts of trained lookouts on top of mountains to track wildfires. But now, they're changing it up and installing dozens of cameras that will allow the public to monitor them as well.

Basically we, the public, now have access to a website called AlertWildfire.org where you can click on a particular region and watch their live cams. In the North Bay, the plan is to mount around 40 cameras by spring spanning Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino, Napa and Lake Counties.
