Ray Olyaie, who runs the Valero gas station on the 4000 block of Mowry Avenue in Fremont, is offering free gas to furloughed government employees living in Fremont.
He came up with the idea after he read a news report about a federal worker who couldn’t afford the gas to get to her job after not receiving her paycheck.
Mr. Olyaie plans to give away $20,000 worth of free fuel, anyone wanting to take advantage of the offer needs to show proof of employment and residency.
