A California state senator has introduced legislation that would create new driving lanes in California with no speed limit on two major highways. The goal? To cut emissions.
Introducing bill SB-319 which would allow for two unlimited speed lanes on each side of Interstate 5 and State Route 99 which happen to be the main north/south arteries linking cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sacramento. The sections of the roadways that would have unlimited speed would run through the Central Valley.
The bill points out that there is no smart train between L.A. and Sacramento as originally promised, now those cars are on the freeway, emissions are up and something has to be done.
