With sunshine on the way, maybe temps in the 70s this weekend, Caltrans workers can finally get around to making the long needed repairs they had to postpone because of all rain.
About a month ago the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge was closed because of concrete chunks falling onto the lower deck. The concrete was loosened by faulty steel expansion joints, and now Caltrans workers have begun replacing the joints, all 61 of them, that have been in place since the ‘50s.
