Snow Survey Shows The Sierra Nevada Snowpack Is Now 162% Of Average To Date

The snowpack in the Sierra was measured this week, and it was the fourth-best measurement in history, 162 percent of normal for April. If the snow in the mountains melted all at once, it would cover the Sierra with four feet of water. The area provides as much as a third of California’s water supply.
