Drivers Licenses From These State May Soon No Longer Get You On A Plane!

Heading on a domestic flight soon? Don't forget your passport. If you hold a drivers license from one of these states, it soon will no longer be accepted at the airport.

When the REAL ID Act goes into effect on Oct. 1, 2020, any forms of ID that aren't compliant will be considered invalid for boarding a plane.

While many states have made upgrades to their licenses to fit the new rules, exemptions for the others are soon running out, starting with Rhode Island in May, then Alaska and Montana in June. Kentucky, Missouri, and Pennsylvania are OK until August, with Maine, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Oregon following in October.

Once the date passes, travelers from those states will need some form of Federal identification like a passport, Global Entry card, or Military ID.
