Broccoli Not Good For You?? According To This Report You Should Stay Away!

Have you ever wondered why you don't get a good night's sleep? Is it your mattress, maybe you're stressed or can't stop worrying about things? Well you may not think about it, but the food you eat later at night can have a major effect on your sleep quality.

Mashed did a report going through some foods that you should and shouldn't eat before doing to bed. One food that really surprised us by being on the list was broccoli....it's on the 'bad' list! Broccoli is a super healthy green veggie that's super high in fiber, but according to holistic nutritionist Elissa Goodman in an interview with Delish, "these veggies can interfere with your ability to sleep soundly because you're likely still digesting them while trying to fall asleep." Conclusion, the are technically healthy for you, but you can't eat them later in the day if you want to get a good night's sleep!

The full good list includes:

  • Bananas
  • Salmon or tuna
  • Leafy greens like kale, spinach, chard
  • Low-fat dairy like milk or yogurt
  • Sweet potatoes

Some of the food on the bad list:

  • Broccoli
  • Cheese
  • Ice cream
  • Alcohol
  • Spicy foods

Check out the full list and descriptions on why you should (or shouldn't) eat these before bed at Mashed.
