Pennsylvania Barber Pays Kids $3 To Read Books Aloud!

Jon Escueta, the founder and owner of City Cuts barbershop in Kutztown, Pennsylvania came up with the idea to pay kids that come into his shop $3 if they will read a book while getting their hair cut!

Jon is a middle school basketball coach as well and he believes that kids need help with public speaking and confidence so he came up with the idea of giving certain kids on his basketball team turns at playing the role of coach. That was successful enough that he decided to roll the idea over to his barbershop and see if the same concept would work with kids and he found that reading aloud helped boost their public speaking confidence!

Jack and Carolyn talked to Jon on the air! Listen below....
