Starting next year, all California school kids will be able to sleep in a little later. Governor Newsom signed a bill that will keep middle schools from starting class earlier than 8 a.m., and high schools earlier than 8:30 a.m.
The American Academy of Pediatrics claims that sleep deprivation among school kids is a major health problem, and starting school a bit later will allow students to get a little more sleep.
