This Is What Is Behind The Social Distancing Circles At Dolores Park In SF!

Mission Dolores Park In San Francisco Encourages Social Distancing With Marked Circles

By now you’ve seen the photos of the social distancing circles at Dolores Park in San Francisco. Maybe you’ve been there to see them for yourself. There are 177 of them at Dolores…8 feet in diameter and 10 feet apart, and they were installed well in advance of the Memorial Day holiday weekend…always a busy time for San Francisco parks.

San Francisco Parks and Recreation General Manager give full credit to his crew. He says “I like to refer to it as behavioral art, it’s intended to be playful.” As it turns out, it’s pretty effective too. He says that there’s a turf crew of four people on staff that specializes in this kind of thing, and it took them a few hours to complete the job at Delores.

The city has more than 300 social distancing circles at three other parks throughout the city….Washington Square, Jackson Playground, and little Marina Green.

Jack Kulp and Carolyn McArdle talked about it on the air! Listen below...
