Motorists crossing the Golden Gate Bridge will now hear a strange sound - the bridge 'singing' as they cross.
The sound, which has been compared to a "giant, wheezing kazoo", is the result of a redesign to the bridge's bike path railings, which produce the sound when winds are high.
While the 'singing' might be annoying to some, the changes allow wind to flow more smoothly and safely over the bridge structure.
