Benicia
A fire is burning in Benicia near the Interstate 680 and 780 split, according to authorities.
Around 1:22 p.m. Monday tree was reportedly burning on the right-hand side near the E. Fifth Street offramp.
The blaze got close to a storage lot for new vehicles, according to the CHP.
Fairfield
A grass fire broke out at the bottom of Nelson Hill near Mountain Meadows Drive on Monday.
At this time, residents on Scotch Pine Court, Early Amber Court, and Sierra Court are being evacuated.
The police department says these streets are currently closed:
- Link Road between Cordelia Road and Pittman Road
- Cordelia Road between Link Road and Thomason Lane
Fremont/Union City
A grass fire broke out off of Patterson Ranch Road near Alameda Creek Trail.
The fire grew to 39 acres.
Smoke was blowing through Fremont, Union City and Newark due to wind.
Rodeo
Crews responded to two fires in the area of Rodeo on Monday afternoon, which merged as they grew bigger.
A fast-moving grass fire started burning along Interstate-80 eastbound which caused the number 4 lane to close.
The fire is burning near the Cummings Skyway offramp, which was closed down.
Contra Costa Fire reported that the fire had grown to 60 acres and Cal Fire Air was assisting at this time.
It was first reported around 1:54 p.m.
The second fire was reported near California Street and Springwood Street.
The fires merged and grew to 230-acres.
Contra Costa Fire officials reported that the forward progress of the California Fire has been stopped.
Morgan Hill/Gilroy
CREWS RD AT OAK SPRING CIRCLE** is closed. The Crew fire is 5400 ACRES, 20% contained.
Caada Road Both EB/WB between Pacheco Pass Highway / CA-152 and Gilroy Hot Springs Road are closed.
Crews Road Both NB/SB at Oak Springs Circle is closed.
