Our hearts go out to the thousands of Californians who still haven’t received any unemployment benefits. In Many cases they’ve been waiting months since the pandemic began. What make it worse, is that it’s very difficult to reach the California Employment Development Department, or EDD.
Les Wylie of Hayward has the OPPOSITE problem.
Les still has a full time job, yet he’s receiving benefits from the EDD, and he can’t get them to stop. He even sent them a certified letter. Les and his wife have been desperately trying to return the money, but the EDD just keeps sending more and more. All Les wanted was the $178 he was entitled to for the three days he was laid off. Now, his account balance has ballooned to $6,200.
Les is just trying to do the right thing,and isn’t touching the money.
