6-year-old Andy Soulard from Castro Valley has been pretty much going to the Oakland Zoo with her parents since the day she was born.
When Andy and her parents learned that the Oakland Zoo was in trouble financially and may have to close, this amazing little girl told her parents she wanted to help.
She started by donating the first $5 that she had earned from the tooth fairy to the cause. Her goal was $200.
Then Andy started making bracelets to sell with the proceeds going toward the zoo. Fast forward to two weeks later and she has raised almost $28,000 in donations and bracelet sales! As of today, she hit the $200,000 mark!
The Oakland Zoo announced that they are set to reopen after the city OK'd a variance to allow the zoo to reopen, but that hasn't stopped Andy. She's STILL raising money!
