Teachers at East Palo Alto Academy have come up with a unique, and FUN way to raise money for families hard hit by the pandemic. It’s called the Bulldog Buzzcut Challenge.
Here’s how it works. When a certain level of fundraising was is achieved, a staff member at the school gets a buzz cut. Their goal was to hit the $40,000 mark by May. So far they’ve been able to raise over $100,000!.
Teacher Caren McDonald came up with the idea. As a result many students have been able to pay for their college registration, and they’ve helped so kids and their families have been able to hold on to their homes.
