Tom Cook and his friend Joseph Feeney promised each other that, if one of them hit the lottery, they’d share the winnings no matter who bought the ticket. They shook hands to seal the deal. That was in 1992.
Well, last month Tom won the Powerball Jackpot with a winning ticket worth 22 million! When Tom called Joseph, an avid fisherman, to tell him they won, Joseph responded “Are you jerking my bobber?” The men chose the cash option, so each will receive a lump sum of 5.7 million dollars after taxes.
